Showers/T-storms will likely fire up along and ahead of a cold front that will move through the region during the afternoon. We have busted out into some sunshine across the Hudson Valley and areas south and west of Albany. The sun is helping to destabilize the atmosphere. T-storms that develop through the afternoon will likely contain torrential downpours and damaging wind gusts in excess of 50 MPH. Stay tuned to NEWS 10 through the afternoon, we will continuously be updating the weather homepage, too.
