Jobless numbers in New York State and the Capital Region remain high, according to the latest figures.
The State Department of Labor says the region's jobless rate is at 7.3% for March 2009, down just slightly from February's rate of 7.6%.
From year-to-year, however, the unemployment is up more than 2%.
Last March, the number was 5%.
Nearly all of the counties in the greater Capital Region area saw small drops in the unemployment rate from last month, but they still remain high.
Schoharie and Montgomery Counties both have double digit unemployment rates at 11.1%, down from 11.5%.
Fulton County saw its rate drop from 10.9% in February to 10.6% in March.
The only area county to see a slight increase in jobless numbers is Greene County, which saw a jump from 9 to 9.1%.
