Uncle of Brooke Bennett Now Faces Charges in Her Murder

The uncle of slain Vermont 12-year-old Brooke Bennett is now facing charges in connection with her murder.

A grand jury indicted 42-year-old Michael Jacques of Randolph, Vermont, saying he drugged, sexually assaulted and then smothered Bennett with a plastic bag.

Bennett disappeared on June 25th of this year, and was found buried in a shallow grave near Jacques' home one week later.

The federal grand jury that handed up the indictment also issued a notice of special findings under which Jacques could face the death penalty if convicted.
