  • Financial exploitation of older adults can occur through numerous methods, including the misuse of powers of attorney and guardianships, illegal transfer of property, misuse of position of trust and authority, telemarketing fraud, investment fraud and identity theft. The mission of the Center for Excellence in Aging Services Consumer Fraud Fair: “Safeguarding Your Identity & Assets” is to empower and educate mature adults on how to avoid becoming a victim of these often-unreported crimes.

  • Exhibitors will be available from 9am to 12pm and workshops start at 930am and repeat at 1030am, ending in time for you to visit a vast array of helpful information booths. If you would like to attend these workshops, you must RSVP to Lauren Velazquez at: (518) 442-5833.

  • The Month of May is Older American's month and in keeping with honoring our senior citizens in the Capital Region, the Center for Excellence in Aging Services at the University at Albany along with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the OASIS lifelong learning program are hosting a Senior Celebration Luncheon and Consumer Fair: “Safeguarding Your Identity & Assets.” We are expecting well over 300 seniors to attend this event.
