State workers in Bennington say the building they work in is making them sick. But they will have to wait even longer – more than four months, to move to a new building.
Earlier this year, the Vermont Department of Health found an extremely high incidence of Sarcoidosis among workers there. Sarcoidosis is a serious inflammation of the lungs.
At least six of the roughly130 employees in the building have been diagnosed with the illness.
A study of the state offices on Veterans Memorial Drive could not pinpoint exactly what in the environment was making people sick.
More tests on the building will be conducted after the employees are relocated.
