Albany Police Investigating Suspicious Death

Albany Police are calling the death of a man whose body was found Monday morning, suspicious.

Police were called to the Dewitt Clinton Apartments at State and Eagle Street shortly after 11 o'clock Monday morning. The call came from “Meals on Wheels,” which delivers meals to the elderly man found dead in his apartment by police.

Investigators were on the scene throughout the day, going door-to-door asking neighbors if they saw anything.

Police are not releasing the man's identity for now.

“Upon arrival, the officers found a male deceased,” says Albany Police Chief James Tuffey. “Right now it's suspicious…we're conducting an investigation at this point.”

Police expect autopsy results some time Tuesday.
